Dear 2nd Grade Students and Families,

Here are your assignments for today.  Click on the underlined links to open each assignment.

Specials:

  1. Today’s special is library.  Ms. River’s recommends that you spend some extra time today curled up reading a good book.  I recently discovered a new author I enjoy, and I am eagerly reading all of their books.

Reading:

  1. Respond to multiple-choice and short answer questions about The Three Little Pigs: The Wolf’s Story: RazPlus–Three Little Pigs The Wolfs Story–Comprehension Quiz.
  2. Read a good fit book for 20 minutes.

Writing:

  1. Continue writing your fairy tale.  Be sure to include vivid adjectives to describe the characters, places, and things in your story.  Examples: the blue, cloudless sky / the mischievous, little kitten / the large, red barn.  Remember, the longest part of your story should be the middle–the part when your main character tries unsuccessfully in three different ways to solve the problem.  Take your time to make your story interesting and well-written.  Here’s some paper to use, if you’d like: Fundations Paper with Drawing Space.

Math:

  1. Make a “cootie catcher” to help you practice telling time to the nearest 5 minutes: Super Teacher Worksheets–Cootie Catcher Time (Nearest 5 Minutes).
  2. Go on Symphony Math for 20 minutes.

Social Studies and Science:

  1. Complete this activity (Services My Family Uses and Provides) to answer questions about services your family uses and provides.  Remember, things you pay for are either products or services.  Products are things you can touch.  Services are jobs someone is paid to do for you.
