Dear 2nd Grade Students and Families,
I hope you are well and that you enjoy a wonderful weekend! Here are your assignments for today. Click on the underlined links to open each assignment.
Reading:
- Read a good fit book or article for 20 minutes. This can be a book or article you have around the house or something you read online using a site like Epic!
- Read this NewsELA article: NEWSELA article–girl helps clean beaches. Use the text to help you think about the answers to the questions.
Writing:
- Sasha Olsen, the girl from the NewsELA article, started a group to clean up beaches near her home in Florida. Think about a time you did something to help other people, animals, or the environment. Write a paragraph about what you did to help. Include specific details about who you were with, where you were, what you did, and why you did it. Here is a link to some lined paper like the paper we use in class: Fundations Writing Paper.
Math:
- Compete the Math Challenge Worksheet–April 3.
- If you are able to, spend 20 minutes on Symphony Math.
Social studies:
- Make a map of an imaginary place. Include a title with the name of the place, a map key with at least 5 symbols, and a labeled compass rose. Make sure your map has at least 1 river, 1 mountain, 1 lake, 1 forest, and 2 towns.
