Dear 2nd Grade Students and Families,

It was lovely to see so many of you yesterday!  Here are your assignments for today.  Click on the underlined links to open each assignment.

Reading:

  1. Read one of these Focus Books about living things.  This text is more challenging: Science A-Z–Amazing Cells.  This text is a medium challenge: Science A-Z–Baobab Trees.  This text is less challenging: Science A-Z–Babies and Parents.  Choose the book that’s a good fit for you as a reader.  You can read the other books too, if you are interested.
  2. Go on Lexia for 20 minutes.

Writing:

  1. Use the Focus Book you just read to complete this assignment: FOCUS BOOK Graphic Organizer.

Math:

  1. Complete the Math Challenge Worksheet–April 15 (1).
  2. Play a familiar math game -OR- go on Symphony Math or Prodigy for 20 minutes.

Social Studies and Science:

  1. Take a walk outside near your house.  Try to identify 4 living things and 4 nonliving things.  Draw and label each thing you find.  You may use this sheet of paper to record your drawings: Living and Nonliving Things Near My House.  Remember, if something was once alive, it is considered a living thing.
  2. Continue working on the My Observation Notebook assignment to track the changes in a plant you found near your house.
