Dear 2nd Grade Students and Families,

I hope you enjoyed the long weekend!

Here are your assignments for today.  Click on the underlined links to open each assignment.  In addition, here is a copy of the LES Get Moving Challenge to log your movement this week: LES GMC Log.

Reading:

1. Read The Three Little Pigs.  This version will be a good fit for many 2nd grade readers: RazPlus–The Three Little Pigs–M.  If it is not a good fit for you, try one of these versions: RazPlus–The Three Little Pigs–I or RazPlus–The Three Little Pigs–F.
2. Read another good fit book for 20-30 minutes.

Writing:

1. Plan your own fairy tale in which the main character tries to solve a problem and eventually succeeds.  Here is the planning sheet: Fairy Tale Planning Sheet.  Notice that there is space to describe your main character, space to plan the problem, space to plan 3 UNSUCCESSFUL attempts to solve the problem, and space to plan your ending that shows how the problem gets solved.

Math:

1. Complete the Math Challenge–April 21.
2. Go on Symphony Math for 20 minutes.

Social Studies and Science:

1. Go on PebbleGo.  Start at the LES homepage.  Click on For Students.  Then scroll down and click on PebbleGo.  Click on Social Studies.  Then click on Countries.  Choose and read about a country you HAVE NOT learned about yet.  Remember, you can click on the speaker icon to listen to the text being read aloud.
2. Work on your plant observation project (if you are not yet done).
